Holos University Graduate Seminary

Holos University Graduate Seminary

Holos University Graduate Seminary prepares students to integrate Universal Principles of Energy Medicine, Spirituality, and Holistic Health through self-development, scholarly exploration and research, and compassionate service.

The mystical traditions of virtually all religions contain substantial references that address the subtle physical energies of the body, the transpersonal aspects of the mind, and the expressive activity of the spirit. These traditions exist at the very core of holistic mysticism, spiritual direction, counseling intuition, transformational psychology, and integrative healthcare. Holos University Graduate Seminary (HU) emphasizes ecumenical spiritual approaches that fulfill a growing need for an inclusive, holistic, and creative approach to life in contemporary communities.

As a Seminary, HU focuses upon the spiritual aspects of its studies and research. As a University, HU strives to uphold the highest academic standards in teaching and research and seeks to serve as a bridge between academic, scientific, and religious institutions. The educational design of the HU program, centered on these basic tenets, inevitably leads to a new, broader, and more expansive understanding of subtle energies, consciousness and human transformation.

Dr. Shealy

Dr. Norman Shealy

In 1971, Dr. Shealy was a neurosurgeon and pioneering holistic physician who founded the country’s first comprehensive, holistic clinic for management of pain and stress management. The Shealy Institute became the most successful and cost-effective pain clinic in the U.S., with 85% success in over 30,000 patients. The Shealy protocols for management of depression, migraine, fibromyalgia and back pain have been increasingly integrated into hospital and individual practices.

In 1978, Dr. Shealy co-founded the American Holistic Medical Association and served as its first president. He also served as President of Holos University and on the Board of Directors of Holos Institutes of Health, and in many other roles.

In addition to his many other accomplishments, Dr. Shealy was a prolific author and published several books, including Energy Medicine, Living Bliss and the best-selling 90 Days to Self Health. He used his knowledge, coupled with compassion, to love, heal, and impact his patients and family in the most positive way, vowing to heal the body as a whole. Inventor of the TENS Machine and the Shealy RelaxMate, he held many patents for some of the most incredible healing devices still widely used today.

Dean Martens

Dean Martens

In 1980, Dean Martens was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, arrhythmia, systemic candida, ulcers, herpes and colitis. His doctors said that the first two diseases were scientifically incurable, and that traditional medicine offered no optimistic outlook. Dean decided to study “Health” instead of how to alleviate the symptoms of his diseases. The cause of disease became his focus.

Dean’s research and studies began with Macrobiotic, Oriental/TCM and Ayurvedic philosophies, but he found he had to go further. He focused on nature and its natural laws along with the communication that the body gives during disease.

His studies included the teachings of Hippocrates, Jesus, John Harvey Kellogg, T. C. Fry, Dr. J. H. Tilden, Herbert Shelton, Bernard Jensen, Dr. Vasant Lad, Barbara Brennan, Michael Moore, and Ann Wigmore. By changing his lifestyle (which created the diseases) and cleansing through natural means, he was able to rid himself of all diseases and their manifestations.

The outcome of this applied research was that he completely regained abundant health as described in his Taking Responsibility video, available on YouTube. This newfound truth made his passion to share with others how they too can Take Responsibility for their Health.

Dean found through experience that “regaining lost health is simple; it’s the discipline that’s tough.” In his quest for further knowledge, Dean traveled throughout the western hemisphere. His travels through Central, South, and North America and the Bahamas guided him in the direction of herbal medicines. His journey led to Michael Moore at the Southwest School of Botanical Medicine, where he received his diploma as a Clinical Herbalist.

In 1992, Dean founded Herbs of Light as a vehicle to assist people in regaining their health. He lectures throughout the Western world on “Taking Responsibility,” which examines the lifestyles that bring back and maintain health, and the role of herbs within that process.

Dr. Nambudripad

Dr. Devi Nambudripad

NAET was developed by Dr. Devi Nambudripad, a California acupuncturist, chiropractor, and a kinesiologist, in an attempt to relieve herself of severe allergic symptoms suffered since her birth in Kerala, South India.

While working on her Ph.D. at Samra University of Oriental Medicine in Los Angeles, she observed that people presenting allergic symptoms often responded favorably to acupuncture or acupressure treatment. After recognition of the systemic relationship between contact with an allergen and the resulting neuro-physiological effects produced in the body, she began to discover the key to the mystery of how the brain may be reprogrammed in its response to what it once took to be harmful or toxic.

Her own experience and personal interest led her to develop the method later referred to collectively as NAET, and to specialize exclusively in the diagnosis and treatment of allergies. She has trained more than two thousand medical practitioners from all over the world (chiropractors, acupuncturists, allopathic medical doctors, dentists, doctors of osteopathy and doctors of veterinary medicine are some among the group). To date, thousands of patients successfully have been treated, with permanent and amazing results.
