Addiction Services

Addictions are repetitive patterns of behavior driven by emotions, beliefs and habits in which an individual becomes reliant on a substance. Some common examples of addictions include cigarettes, drugs and food. The body’s biochemical responses received from these substances lead to the formation of neural pathways in the brain, which are strengthened by the addiction.

Acupuncture, combined with desensitization and repatterning, shifts you from reliance on the addiction to achieving balance in your body’s energetic ecosystem, a turning point that empowers you to take charge of your life.

N.A.D.A.

N.A.D.A. helps with addictions, mental health disasters and emotional trauma recovery. This protocol involves the placement of up to five small, sterilized disposable needles into specific sites on each ear. This is generally done seated in a group setting for 30-45 minutes to allow the treatment to take effect.

It is generally used as an adjunct protocol for addictions/disaster relief settings in a location where a group of people can sit together. N.A.D.A enhances opportunities for successful recovery from addictions and traumas because it combines acupuncture, counseling and education. This protocol may be used when the individual already has medical support and is connected with self-help groups such as AA and NA for addictions and trauma counseling for survivors of traumatic events.

Benefits:

  • Reduced cravings for alcohol and drugs, including nicotine
  • Minimized withdrawal symptoms
  • Increased calmness, better sleep, and less agitation
  • Relief from stress and emotional trauma
  • An easier connection with counseling
  • A discovery of inner quiet and strength

The N.A.D.A. protocol is a 70-hour training course. In Georgia, only a licensed acupuncturist can use this protocol directly. Unlicensed individuals must take the same 70-hour training course and pass the same exams for certification. However, they can only perform this protocol under the supervision of a licensed acupuncturist or a licensed MD who is also trained in acupuncture and who has special privileges to practice acupuncture after taking an approved acupuncture training course.

Supplement recommendations are provided to nourish the body and mind.
